ACT Beagle Club

Welcomes All Beagles & Their Friends

Looking for a new home (16 May 2009)

Please see below

Hi Theo,

We were cruising in the net looking for food when we found this.
Two beagles have been handed into the pound for rehoming (yard 33).
Do you know anyone who would want 2 bealges (my slave says two is enough already at our house).
Hopefully we can find them a home and they can come to beagles walk with us ;)

Cheers
Bobby and Ginger

Adopt A Beagle

Hi, I'm a vet in Canberra, and have recently had in an elderly client, who is in a dilemma about what to do with her Beagle. Bessie the Beagle is 15 years old, so definitely no spring chicken, but she is still as strong-willed as ever. Her owner has osteoporosis and finds that Bessie is constantly under her feet, and hence a bit of a health risk for her. Her owner has reached the point where she realises that she needs to rehome or euthanase Bessie, to look after her own health. She is reluctant to euthanase her as she still seems to have reasonable quality of life, but she realises that she may be very difficult to rehome.
I was wondering if you knew of any kind hearted person, who may be willing to take on a Beagle in her twilight years. Admittedly she is going blind and deaf and is a bit arthritic, but she still makes a very willing companion. She still enjoys her walks, and goes on them twice daily most days. She does get on ok with other mature dogs (not puppies), although she has been on her own for years. She is not very tolerant of children, so better suited to a single person, or older couple.

Thanks for your time. If you need any further info, please let me know and I will pass it on to Bessie's owner.

Lost & Found

LOST:

"Frankie" is a 4 month old, female, mini foxi x chihuahua and she has been missing from her yard in Oxley since 17/2/09.

She can be a little bit timid around strangers but if approached in a friendly manner will probably respond.

She hasn't yet been microchipped and was wearing a black collar.

If you see Frankie, or have any information as to where she might be, please contact Chantelle on 0431 519 396
